Oprah to Tsunami Survivor: "What Do You Struggle with Now That You're Home?"

CC | tv-pg
In 2004, an earthquake in the Indian Ocean caused a massive tsunami that devastated 14 nearby countries and resulted in hundreds of thousands of casualties. Among the survivors of the South Asian tsunami was Oprah's close friend and resident designer, Nate Berkus, who, along with his partner, Fernando Bengoechea, was vacationing in Sri Lanka at the time of the event. Tragically, Fernando would be counted among the many missing after search and rescue efforts ceased.

Nate and other survivors of the tsunami came on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005 to recount their harrowing experiences. After the show, Ani Naqvi told her story of survival, described the dismal circumstances under which she met Nate for the first time, and told Oprah about the psychic who predicted she would survive a near-death experience.
